#DigitalQurban with GOBAZA!
COVID-19 has definitely taken a toll on all of us, and we have been adapting to it from the digital bazaar, replacing the physical Ramadan bazaar and #digitalraya through zoom meetings.
However, GOBAZA is here to stay and is now Singapore’s One Stop Digital Bazaar Platform with majority of our merchants from the Ramadan bazaars, ‘Pasar-Malam’ bazaars and Home-Based Businesses. GOBAZA continues to offer the digital experience of extravagant food, fashion, lifestyle and even online workshops & courses where both consumers and merchants can interact and make purchases directly.
As we are in Phase II of post circuit breaker period, it has been reported by the Straits Times that there will be no livestock imported to Singapore in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus Hari Raya Haji and Qurban may not be observed the same way as per previous years.
Before we continue, let’s take a moment to understand the practices of Qurban and Aqiqah
Qurban and Aqiqah are both of sunnah, which is very encouraged to be performed as practiced by our beloved Prophet (SAW). It relives the story of how Prophet Ibraham (AS) showed his true submission to Allah by obeying His commands to sacrifice his son, Ismail (AS). After the sacrifice was performed, Allah revealed that a ram had taken the place of Ismail (AS) which was a miraculous event and a test of devotion to Prophet Ibrahim (AS). Both Qurban and Aqiqah has been practiced ever since as a lesson of obedience and submission to Our Provider, Allah SWT.
However, that does not mean, we aren’t able to perform our obligations amidst the pandemic. As with #DigitalRaya with GOBAZA during Ramadan and Syawal, we are introducing #DigitalQurban to provide our fellow Muslims with options for both Qurban and Aqiqah services that are available on Gobaza.sg.
