Are Home Based Businesses Shut for Good?

Most of us have started being a bit more cautious after a recent article that came out in the news stating that ‘Home-based Businesses Mustn’t Continue’. But there shouldn’t be a need to panic as there are already guidelines already stated by HDB and MTI respectively so as long as you are not breaking any of these rules, you can still operate your business from home.
HDB has listed 2 schemes for Home Based business i.e. Home Office Scheme and Home-Based Small-Scale Business Scheme.

In a nutshell, your business able to continue if,
• You are based online
• No paid advertising on doors or windows outside your homes.
• Engage in using contactless delivery options and practising safe distancing.
